Zodiac Spot On Flea Control for Cats Review

zodiac-spot-on

Finding safe, effective flea treatments for your cat can be difficult.

Many of the products that work so well on dogs are toxic to felines, and the ones that are left are often just a huge waste of time and money.

Meanwhile, you’re fighting fleas and your poor cat is miserable. We understand your pain and want to help!

Zodiac claims to have just the product that you need to kill fleas and protect your cat from future infestation but we’re not just going to take their word for it.

We’re going to look at the ingredients in Zodiac Spot On, see what other users are saying, and decide whether or not this is worth your time and money.

Company Claims

According to Zodiac, their cat flea treatment kills fleas and disrupts their lifecycle so that your cat remains free of these biting pests that can make it miserable and even sick. Here’s what it kills:

  • Fleas
  • It also supposedly breaks the flea lifecycle by destroying:

  • Flea eggs
  • Flea Larvae

The treatments come most often in a single does or a 4-month supply packaged in individual doses.

Active Ingredients

  • Methoprene 96.4%

How it Works

Methoprene is a growth inhibitor that keeps larvae and eggs from developing, thus breaking the lifecycle of the insect.

What Are Users Saying?

Reviews on this product aren’t great. Almost without fail, users are reporting that it doesn’t work.

Since the only active ingredient is a growth inhibitor, chances are good that the users are correct. Though it may get rid of eggs, it isn’t going to kill adult fleas or keep them from biting your cat.

The price is extremely competitive at $5 or less per dose.

Usage Information

Apply between the shoulder blades and allow to dry. Reapply every 4 weeks.

Product Warnings and Side Effects

Don’t use it on kittens younger than 12 weeks old or on sick, pregnant or nursing cats without first talking to a vet. It can cause moderate eye or skin irritation in both humans and cats. Wash thoroughly after using. If your cat shows sensitivity such as skin irritation, wash well with soap and plenty of water.

Conclusion

Because it only contains a growth inhibitor, we don’t recommend Zodiac Spot On as your main flea control product though it may work OK if you just want to keep your cat from having flea eggs hatch on them.

If you’ve used Zodiac Spot On on your cat for fleas, please let us know how it worked for you in the comments section below.

I think your product is crap I have bought two of the 4 month product for both of my cats because I was told this stuff is like advantage (which actually kills fleas) and I’ve vacuum and washed everything every 3 days and just to find out Christmas Eve my cats are covered in fleas again. Your product sucks next time I want to spend that kind of money I’m buying advantage no more trying to save money on cheap products.
