Sentry Fiproguard Max Flea and Tick Control Review
Are you looking for a less expensive alternative to the higher-end spot ons but don’t want to leave your pet in misery?
If so, then Fiproguard Max may be just the product that you’re looking for.
As a matter of fact, Sentry advertises it exactly that way. Throughout the following paragraphs, we’re going to take a look at what they claim, what’s in the product and what actual users are saying about it.
Before we get started though, please remember that though this product is made for both dogs and cats of all sizes, you should always use the product designed to suit your pet. Don’t ever use dog flea medications on cats, or vice versa because serious reactions, up to and including death, may occur.
According to Sentry, Fiproguard Max kills fleas and ticks faster than Frontline and maintains it’s effectiveness for 30 days.
It kills the following:
- Lice (on dogs)
These biting parasites can cause anemia, sarcoptic mange and skin allergies. Ticks are known to carry Lyme disease, so this product also protects your family.
Fiproguard Max uses fipronil, the main ingredient in Frontline Top Spot, and also contains cyphenothrin, which kills flea larvae as well.
Apply to dogs, cats, puppies and kittens 12 weeks or older by using the applicator to squeeze all of the product onto one spot between the shoulder blades. Allow 24 hours for it to try before bathing your pet and don’t reapply for 30 days. Product is waterproof after the 24-hour waiting period.
Product Warnings and Side Effects
Though side effects are rare with this product, individual sensitivities may occur, including temporary irritation at application site, If your pet has any kind of skin irritation, or broken skin, consult your vet before using this or any other pesticide.
What Do Users Say?
Most people who use Fiproguard Max as a preventative product or to kill a few stray fleas say that the product works beautifully. People with infestations who use this product alone aren’t getting great results. Also, Many of the people who report that it didn’t work had just bathed their pets prior to application which isn’t optimal. The product needs natural oils to properly spread and work.
If you’re looking for a preventative flea control product to use regularly, Sentry's Fiproguard Max will probably work just as well for you as the more expensive brands. If you have a major infestation, you need to take more aggressive action that includes killing fleas and flea eggs on your pet, in your home and in your yard. Then you may begin a preventative program.
