Hartz UltraGuard Plus Home Fogger Review
If you are reading this article, you may have just found yourself in the middle of an emergency that typically only comes if you have pets running around your house: a flea infestation.
Any pet owner knows that when you dog or cat becomes infested with fleas that you also run the risk of having the vermin infest your house and that it is no easy task to get rid of the bugs once they are there.
If this is what you are facing, a fogger can help make your job a little easier. However, we highly recommend weighing out the pro’s and con’s before settling on this particular fogger.
Hartz UltraGuard Plus Home Fogger claims to rid your house of fleas on contact. It actually does work to kill not only fleas, but also ticks, mosquitoes, larvae, eggs, and other ixodid species that could carry Lyme disease and other blood-borne conditions, but it accomplishes this with the help of chemical pesticides.
Pros:
It’s a very cheap way to break the flea life cycle and prevent fleas laying eggs in your home.
If eggs have already been laid, the use of this fogger will kill them before they hatch.
Protects against re-infestation for up to seven months, providing for long-term prevention and control.
Cons:
You get what you pay for. Hartz is notorious for using cheap chemicals in their products.
They claim that UltraGuard Plus foggers will not harm you, your family or your pets, yet they recommend you wait at least 24 hours before you start using the room actively again. If you are broke enough to consider using Hartz, we’d recommend waiting more like 48 hours.
This fogger cannot not be used in rooms, like a closet or other enclosed space, that do not have proper ventilation.
We do not recommend this product for use in your home, but rather suggest looking into safer alternatives.
